The start of the 2014 build at the new Stonehenge Visitors Centre
The prototypes built last year at Old Sarum
Archaeology brought to life. This new build at the Stonehenge Visitors Centre should be complete by July and will provide visitors with an idea of how the people of the Stonehenge area lived daily. It is also hoped that traditional crafts which include knapping and bronze casting will also be exhibited, giving adults and schools an insight into this fascinating period.
The houses are bring reconstructed from the ground plans from neolithic houses excavated at nearby super henge, Durrington Walls - the work camp for the Stonehenge builders - in complete detail. With central hearth and wooden dressers, the houses are spacious and comfortable.
This is described in detail within my books, along with Durrington Walls religious buildings, cult houses and paved track down to the rivers edge, from where it meanders through chalk ridges to the Stonehenge landscape.
STONE LORD & MOON LORD ARE BOTH AVAILABLE AT THE STONEHENGE VISITORS CENTRE GIFT SHOP, RIGHT NEXT TO WHERE THE HOUSES ARE NOW BEING BUILT.
COME AND VISIT THEM FOR SUMMER 2014!
